At least 9 people were killed in “Madurai Sali Taplapati” district when a parked train carriage in southern India caught fire after a passenger tried to make tea.
What happened in the rest of the train:-
The carriage was separated from the train and parked in the Madurai train yard in the state of Tamil Nadu (south), when the fire broke out before dawn.
Statements of the district spokesman:-
Madurai district spokesperson Sally Taplabati told AFP, “It was one parked vehicle that had been booked by a tour company, A someone tried to prepare tea, which caused the fire”.
He added, “9 people died, 3 of them women. And 9 others were injured, which did not pose a threat to their lives.
