Ukrainian drones attacked two Russian airports in the early hours of Wednesday, damaging four planes at the airport in Pskov, a city in western Russia near the border with Estonia.
The attacks also caused flight disruptions in Moscow, where the airspace around Sheremetyevo International Airport was closed for a short period of time.
In a statement on Telegram, Pskov Governor Mikhail Vedernikov said that the Russian military had repelled an attack by Ukrainian drones on Pskov Airport.
Russian media showed videos of a thick black smoke rising from the airport, and cited reports from local residents who heard explosions and gunfire.

The Russian military later announced on Telegram that it had shot down three Ukrainian drones over the southern Bryansk region, one over the Oryol region in the center of Russia, and one over the Kaluga region south of Moscow.
The attacks on Pskov and Moscow are the latest in a series of Ukrainian drone strikes against Russian targets inside Russia. In recent weeks, Kyiv has pledged to “take the conflict back to Russia”.
