Wagner Group Leader Prigozhin Buried in Secret Ceremony Amid Speculation of Kremlin’s Involvement
Yevgeny Prigozhin the leader of the Wagner Group a Russian private military company was buried in a secret ceremony in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
Prigozhin, 62 was killed in a plane crash last week two months after he led a brief mutiny against the Russian military leadership.
The ceremony was attended by a small group of Prigozhin’s closest associates. His body was buried in a cemetery in the northern suburbs of St. Petersburg.
The secrecy surrounding the funeral has led to speculation that the Kremlin was involved in Prigozhin’s death.

Some experts believe that the Kremlin may have ordered the assassination of Prigozhin in retaliation for his mutiny. Others believe that Prigozhin may have been killed by rivals within the Wagner Group.
The Kremlin has denied any involvement in Prigozhin’s death.
