Former US President Donald Trump to Surrender to Law Enforcement After Accusations of Election Interference
In a surprising turn of events former US President Donald Trump has announced that he intends to surrender himself to law enforcement authorities in Fulton County Georgia on the upcoming Thursday.
Trump faces charges of attempting to alter the results of the 2020 elections in which he competed against his current opponent President Joe Biden. The announcement was made by Trump through his social media accounts.
The law enforcement authorities in Fulton County have imposed a bail of $200,000 after Trump’s indictment by the county. Additionally there are further release conditions that restrict intimidating witnesses, among other things. Trump and 18 other defendants in the case are required to turn themselves in to the authorities by Friday afternoon.
According to reports from CNN this particular date was set during negotiations with the county’s prosecutor’s office regarding the financial bail that Trump will pay as well as the terms of his release. It is important to note that Trump has no intention of attending the scheduled Republican Party debate tomorrow as he has declared.
