More than eight tons of cocaine were seized in the port of Rotterdam inside a container loaded with bananas coming from Ecuador, according to what the Dutch Public Prosecution Office announced, which confirmed that it is the largest drug seizure in the Netherlands ever, with an estimated resale value of 600 million euros, but the news was not announced before because of the investigations that were going on.

And the Public Prosecution said in a statement on July 13 that customs confiscated a quantity of drugs as part of the largest confiscation operation taking place in the port of Rotterdam and added, “8064 packages of cocaine weighing one kilogram were seized, which were hidden in 12 boxes of bananas”, noting that these drugs were disposed of, and she explained that the container had arrived in Rotterdam from Panama.
