Roman Starovoit, on Telegram, stated that there was an “Ukrainian drone attack in Kursk.” Emergency services were present at the scene and reported that five individuals sustained minor injuries from glass fragments.

Kursk is located approximately 90 kilometers from the border between Russia and Ukraine, making it a vulnerable area near the conflict zone.

Foiled Attack on Moscow

In a separate incident Sergei Sobyanin the Mayor of Moscow reported that a drone attempted to approach the capital city but the attack was thwarted. According to Telegram posts the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was intercepted by the air defense forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, cited by TASS news agency, announced that the UAV was detected over the Stupinsky area near Moscow while it was heading towards the capital. The ministry stated that the drone was destroyed using electronic means and crashed in an abandoned area, causing neither injuries nor damage. The ministry condemned the attempted “terrorist attack” and attributed it to the “Kiev regime.”

As a precautionary measure, both Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports serving the Russian capital were temporarily closed, as reported by TASS.

In previous incidents, the Russian Ministry of Defense intercepted multiple Ukrainian drones on Saturday, some of which targeted Moscow. Additionally, a missile aimed at the Crimean Peninsula was destroyed, and a fourth drone crashed at a military airport in the Belgorod region, causing minor damage to a parked fighter jet.
