6 cases of BA 2.86 worldwide

The British newspaper “The Guardian” explained that the new “ba2.86” variant of the Corona virus contains more than 30 mutations in the spike protein.
Dr. Mira Chand, deputy director of the Health Security Agency, said that V-23AUG-011 was classified as a variant on Friday based on the large mutation in the viral genome, noting that the classification allows monitoring of BA2.86 through routine surveillance.
