“In every year, we follow a rigorous process to structure our team to best serve our advertising customers,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement. “As part of this, we are letting go of a few hundred positions globally.”

The spokesperson added that employees who are affected by the layoffs will have the opportunity to apply for other open positions within Google.

Google said that the changes to its advertising sales team will allow it to better support small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The company plans to focus on providing these businesses with more personalized service and support.

Google also plans to create new roles and increase hiring this year. The company said that this is part of a larger shift in its business strategy.

Impact of AI on Advertising Sales

AI is playing an increasingly important role in advertising sales. The technology can be used to automate tasks, such as targeting ads and generating creative content.

Google is not the only company that is investing in AI for advertising sales. Other companies, such as Facebook and Amazon, are also using the technology to improve their offerings.

The use of AI in advertising sales is likely to continue to grow in the years to come.
