Saudi Arabia Urges Immediate De-escalation and Protection of Civilians Amid Israeli-Palestinian Tensions
Saudi Arabia has affirmed its close monitoring of the developments in the situation between Palestinians and Israelis, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities between the two sides and the protection of civilians, while urging restraint.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today, saying, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely monitoring the unprecedented developments between various Palestinian factions and Israeli forces, which have led to an escalation of violence in several areas.”
The statement continued, “Saudi Arabia calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities between the two sides, the protection of civilians, and the exercise of restraint.” The statement reiterated Saudi Arabia’s repeated warnings about the dangers of an escalation resulting from the continued occupation and the denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as the deliberate provocations against their sanctities.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized, “Saudi Arabia renews its call on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and activate a credible peaceful process leading to a two-state solution that ensures security and peace in the region and protects civilians.
