Earlier, former US President Donald Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was using what Trump called “Biden’s treatment of his political opponent” to condemn the United States on the world stage.

Trump has exploited Putin’s criticism of the charges he faces by suggesting they served as fuel for the Russian president against the United States.

In a post on his social media platform, Trump wrote Truth Social: “All of this is happening, worse than anyone expected.”

Trump’s comments come a day after Putin said Trump’s impeachment trial exposed the “corruption” of the political system in the United States. The Russian president also supported Trump’s claims that the accusations were political in nature.
Putin said in a speech: “Everything that happens with Trump is the politically motivated persecution of his political rival, this is the case and this is done before the eyes of the American public and the whole world. They have simply exposed their internal problems.”
