Biden: I would have welcomed the president of China if he was there today
Biden also said he would have welcomed his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, if he had participated in the summit, but stressed that positive results were still possible.
The US hailed the G20 summit statement, with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan calling it “a milestone for India’s chairmanship of the summit and a vote of confidence in the G20’s ability to come together to address a range of pressing issues.”

Sullivan explained that the statement includes “a series of paragraphs on the war in Ukraine, and from our point of view, the statement did a very good job in defending the principle that states cannot use force to seek territorial seizure.”
