An earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale struck Morocco, occurring 10 kilometers from the earth’s surface, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The center revealed that some countries and regions were affected by the earthquake, namely “the Strait of Gibraltar, Mauritania, Portugal, Spain, Western Sahara, Algeria.”
The earthquake was felt by the residents of many Moroccan cities «Rabat, Kenitra, Meknes, Casablanca, Mohammedia, Salé, Beni Mellal, Guelmim and other cities» and the tremor lasted for 30 seconds, making citizens flee outside their homes, for fear of aftershocks.
