Warning | 6 countries affected by the Morocco earthquake including 2 in Europe

An earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale struck Morocco, occurring 10 kilometers from the earth’s surface, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The center revealed that some countries and regions were affected by the earthquake, namely “the Strait of Gibraltar, Mauritania, Portugal, Spain, Western Sahara, Algeria.”

The earthquake was felt by the residents of many Moroccan cities «Rabat, Kenitra, Meknes, Casablanca, Mohammedia, Salé, Beni Mellal, Guelmim and other cities» and the tremor lasted for 30 seconds, making citizens flee outside their homes, for fear of aftershocks.

Moroccan authorities announced on Saturday that Morocco’s earthquake, measuring 7 on the Richter scale, killed 30 people across the country, noting that the situation is difficult in southern Marrakesh, according to the British network «Sky News».

People died as a result of the collapse of their homes, as a result of the strong earthquake that struck the country, and rapid intervention operations began to intervene to save citizens in the province of Ouarzazate as a result of the earthquake.

Residents felt the quake, which lasted for nearly 30 seconds, prompting many to take to the streets for fear of aftershocks following the first tremors.
