A new report from Bloomberg News today suggests that Apple is set to launch a more powerful and premium version of its dedicated tablet keyboard, the iPad Magic Keyboard.
The report also states that the American tech giant will introduce a new version of its iPad Pro next year.
The new version of the Magic Keyboard is said to feature an upper cover made of aluminum while retaining the soft materials found on the lower part of the keyboard, it will come with just one USB-C port, according to Bloomberg’s weekly Apple report.
The current Magic Keyboard is prone to bending and tearing over time, so the addition of an aluminum top cover and the larger trackpad, reported last week, are expected to address these issues.
However, some are wondering how this sturdy upper cover will affect the iPad screen when closed.
According to Bloomberg, the updated iPad Pro design is not expected until next year, so more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
The Magic Keyboard, known for its rigidity and a larger trackpad, is expected to make significant strides in making the tablet feel like a laptop.
A report from Bloomberg published last Wednesday also indicated that Apple is testing 3D printers to manufacture steel frames for some of its upcoming smartwatches.
This approach has the potential to simplify Apple’s supply chain, if successful with Apple Watches, the company may look to implement the technology in more products over the next few years.
Moreover, Apple announced officially last Tuesday that it will hold a special event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California next month, where the company is expected to unveil its new iPhone lineup.
