Apple has introduced a new section on its official website that showcases its own applications available to users across its various devices.
The company has dedicated a page called “Apple Apps By Apple” to review its various applications and focus on the features they offer to users on iPhones, iPads, Mac computers, and its smartwatches.
Apple describes its applications as “powerful and intuitive apps designed to be easy to access, private, and secure, helping users communicate, create, and get things done.”
The company has categorized its apps into different sections: Communication, Creativity, Productivity, Exploration, Entertainment, Health & Fitness. Users can also filter these apps based on the device they are using.
Apple has dozens of apps, which are typically pre-installed on its devices and are mostly offered to users for free, users have the option to remove them if they choose to and can reinstall them later from the App Store.
Many users rely on Apple’s built-in apps, finding them to be convenient alternatives to third-party apps, which are often limited, paid, ad-supported, or less secure in comparison to Apple’s offerings.
The website also highlights the built-in features of the operating system, such as the Siri personal assistant, iCloud cloud service, CarPlay for in-car connectivity, and more.
Apple is launching this new promotional campaign for its apps at a time when there is discussion about the company potentially allowing app downloads from sources other than the App Store.
Apple previously revealed that third-party apps are more popular than its own apps.
