Tesla owners who own iPhones can now use the personal assistant Siri to operate Apple Shortcuts without resorting to third-party paid apps like Tessie.
The electric car manufacturer recently released its latest app version, numbered 4.24.0, with a note stating: “You can access your car’s controls and climate from the Apple Shortcuts app.”
To use Siri with Apple Shortcuts, all you need to do is summon the digital Apple assistant and utter the name of your desired automation.
With this new update, Tesla drivers can employ shortcuts to control various modes, such as Dog Mode and Bioweapon Defense Mode.
Regarding Dog Mode, drivers can leave their pets in the car while monitoring the car’s temperature through their phone, they can also leave a message on the screen to inform others that the pet owner will return soon and that the car’s conditioning is active, as for Bioweapon Defense Mode, it utilizes filters to purify the air within the car.
The list of commands that can be activated through Apple Shortcuts includes camping mode, defrosting, raising the battery temperature to an appropriate level before charging in the winter, adjusting seat heaters, controlling the car’s interior temperature, and ventilating the windows.
Additionally, the list encompasses setting the volume for multimedia, emissions testing, closing all windows, turning on lights, activating the horn, locking and unlocking the car, opening and closing the charging port, opening and closing doors (Model X), opening and closing the rear trunk, enabling Sentry Mode, setting maximum charging, and initiating and stopping charging.
