Snapchat Introduces Dark Mode for Android Users: How to Activate

The Snapchat platform has started offering the Dark Mode option to all Android users, after previously only being available to subscribers of the paid “Snapchat Plus” service.

Users can activate Dark Mode by ensuring they have updated the app to the latest version from the app store, then, they should go to Settings, select “App appearance,” and choose “Always Dark,” they can also switch back to the light mode by selecting “Always Light.”

It’s worth noting that the automatic switching between light and dark modes based on the operating system is currently absent, unlike in most other applications.

Snapchat announced the Dark Mode option in April last year, initially offering it to Snapchat Plus subscribers for early use before making it available to free users of the service.

Snapchat Plus is a paid subscription service costing $4 per month, offering users exclusive benefits and early access to new features ahead of other users.

Dark Mode could help reduce eye strain during nighttime app usage and also provide other advantages such as battery conservation.

Snapchat is one of the most popular online social media platforms, centered around sharing photos, videos, and instant messaging, the latest statistics indicate that the platform has over 380 million daily active users.
