Meta’s Threads Social Texting Service Introduces New Update Allowing Users to See Liked Posts

Meta’s Threads, the social texting service, has begun rolling out a new update featuring a feature that enables users to view posts they have liked, the company had initiated testing of this new feature on the Android system last week, and it has now decided to launch it for all users.

Users can find the posts they have liked in the ‘Settings’ and then ‘Your Likes’ sections, accessible through the user’s profile page, by comparison, on the Ex platform (formerly Twitter), users can access liked posts through a separate tab labeled ‘Likes’ on their profile page.

Apart from the new feature allowing the viewing of liked posts, Meta has also introduced a new option for the quality of multimedia uploaded to the platform, this can be accessed through ‘Settings,’ then ‘Account,’ and finally ‘Media Quality,’ where users can choose to upload images and videos in high quality.

Additionally, Threads now allows users to sort their follow list to display the latest first (‘Latest First’) or the earliest first (‘Earlier First’), to sort the follow list, users can navigate to their profile page, click on the ‘Followers’ option under the bio, and then go to the ‘Following’ tab.

While these updates might seem minor for the application, Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, hinted last week that some of the most requested features, such as post search and a web version of the platform, will be launched in the coming weeks.

Threads platform achieved tremendous success benefiting Instagram and Meta, just five days after its launch, it attracted over 100 million subscriptions, which sparked dissatisfaction from Twitter’s owner, Jack Dorsey, and its CEO, Linda Yaccarino.

However, data from research firms Sensor Tower and Similarweb revealed that the service experienced some decline in growth and engagement in the following week.

Zuckerberg stated at the end of July that the company is strongly focused on retaining Threads users, after the platform lost over half of its users in the weeks following its high-profile launch.”
