Google Unveils AI-Powered Virtual Clothing Try-On and Advanced Fittering for Enhanced Online Shopping
Google announced yesterday, the launch of two new features that allow users to harness the power of artificial intelligence in their online shopping experience.
The technology giant stated in a blog post that users should feel the same confidence they have when shopping in physical stores, where they can try on clothes in the fitting room before making a purchase.
Google introduced two new features that bring this fitting room experience to users: virtual clothing try-on experience that uses generative AI to showcase clothes on a wide range of real models, and filters that help users find exactly what they are looking for.
According to Google, while clothing is one of the most searched shopping categories, most online shoppers find it difficult to know how the clothes will look on them before buying.
With the new virtual try-on tool in the search engine, users can now determine if a garment fits them and see how it looks on a variety of real models.
Google explained that its new AI model accurately captures the folding, stretching, draping, and creasing of a single clothing image on diverse real models in different poses.
The company selected individuals raging from XXS to 4XL, representing different skin tones, body shapes, races, and hair types.
Starting yesterday, shoppers in the United States can actually try on women’s clothing from brands like Anthropologie, Everlane, H&M, and LOFT through Google.
Users simply need to click on products marked with the “Try On” badge in the search engine and select a model that resembles them.
Google believes that artificial intelligence will continue to enhance our lives in various ways, including making everyday activities like shopping more beneficial and enjoyable.
The company promised to introduce more ways to advanced technology, such as AI, to help people shop online with confidence.
In a separate AI-related news, Google also announced today that it will launch two new features for advertisers that leverage AI technology to automatically find the best positions for brand ads across its various services.
