The issue began to surface around 6 pm in Germany, with users lodging complaints on Allestörungen.de, a popular website for reporting internet outages. Reports predominantly emerged from major German cities such as Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Munich. However, the disturbance was not confined to the federal republic, as users from various global locations also encountered problems while attempting to use the email service.
Microsoft promptly addressed the disruption via Twitter, confirming that they were investigating an issue affecting access to Outlook Web. The tech giant also acknowledged the broader impact on its suite of applications, stating, “We have identified downstream impacts on Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.”
