Google has announced the global launch of its new AI application, Gemini, extending its reach beyond the United States to various countries in South America, Asia, Africa, and Canada, according to Jack Krawczyk, Google’s Product Manager, the tech giant is also expediting the app’s availability in European countries.
Global Expansion and Availability:
Gemini, initially launched in the United States, is now accessible in numerous countries worldwide, with plans for rapid deployment in Europe, users across supported regions can download Gemini for free from Google Play Store for Android devices and App Store for iPhone or iPad users, for Android users in regions where the app is not yet available, such as some European countries, Gemini can be downloaded from alternative app stores outside of Google Play.
Features and Capabilities:
Gemini allows users to input text, voice commands, or use images, responding based on its AI model, Gemini Pro, which supports over 40 languages, including Arabic, the app can generate ideas and images, potentially serving as an alternative to Google Assistant, however, it currently does not support system commands like changing settings, setting alarms, or controlling smart home devices.
Future Integration and User Feedback:
Google anticipates making Gemini the default AI assistant in the Android system, focusing on resolving issues reported by users before introducing new features broadly, this approach underscores Google’s commitment to refining Gemini’s functionality and user experience as it becomes a more integral part of the Android ecosystem.
