NPCs have been a part of Fortnite since its first chapter. These characters reside on the island and play a crucial role in bringing it to life. During gameplay, players may come across these characters and communicate with them to gather information, buy offerings and services, or occasionally be gifted free items. The category of items that players may acquire for free is uncertain, but it could prove to be useful at times.

In the “This Season” Challenge for week twelve, you need to interact with five Characters (NPCs) to receive free items in Fortnite. Although they are not very talkative and have little to say, finishing the task will earn you 25,000 experience points.

Landing next to a Character (NPC)

The challenge starts with a simple task where you must locate a Character (NPC) on the island and land next to them. Although there are many NPCs around, not all of them will give you items for free as some are involved in specific seasonal quests and might not appreciate disturbance. Once you find an NPC character, you must engage with them to obtain complimentary items. Remember that each NPC will only bestow gifts once per game per player. It’s important to note that if your inventory is already at maximum capacity during the gift exchange, the items will be left on the floor for you to retrieve manually.
