Twitter, Now X, Set to Launch Algorithm Update: Enhancing Discoverability for Small Content Creators
Twitter, formerly known as Twitter, is gearing up for a significant update to its algorithm, according to a recent post by its owner, Elon Musk.
Musk stated, “The new algorithm will showcase posts from small accounts within the ‘For You’ section, alongside featuring popular posts from its broader network and spotlighting prominent figures followed by the user.”
This change aims to spotlight more new content that users might find interesting but haven’t discovered yet, providing an opportunity for small content creators to gain visibility, the update aligns with Musk’s strategy to transform X into a platform for content creators.
A major update to the recommendation algorithm is rolling out over the next few days.
This will help surface smaller accounts and posts outside of your friend-follows network.

Over the past few months, X has targeted content creators with new features, such as support for longer posts, extending the character limit to 25,000 for paying subscribers, and the ability to upload videos up to two hours long.
X also launched a revenue-sharing program that has paid out around $20 million to creators, according to X’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino, this strategic shift encourages content creators to build an audience on X and earn income through a mix of ad revenue sharing and subscriptions.
It’s worth noting that X has also added features to enhance direct communication between subscribers and content creators, including support for receiving message requests from subscribers and introducing voice and video call features.
This approach focuses on fostering individual communication, potentially making X an alternative to platforms like Cameo for personalized video messages, despite the current challenges X is facing, the new update aims to increase platform usage and improve content discoverability.
