Google Unveils Redesigned Chrome Browser Using ‘Material You’ Design Language

Google has launched a new version of the Chrome browser for computers, redesigned for all users based on the company’s “Material You” design language.

Key Updates:

  1. UI Changes: This update is part of Google’s celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the Chrome browser, introducing significant changes to the user interface using the advanced “Material You” design language.
  2. HTTPS Integration and Lock Icon Removal: Due to the widespread adoption of the secure HTTPS protocol by most websites, Google removed the lock icon in the URL address bar, replacing it with a new icon that facilitates control over data and site permissions.
  3. Color Customization: Users can now customize the appearance of the Chrome browser using multiple color options, ensuring a seamless match between browser tabs and the toolbar.
  4. Enhancements in Options Menu: Main menu elements have been rearranged, and a sub-menu for the logged-in Google account has been added to the browser.
