Apple has unveiled its latest MacBook Pro, the 16-inch model with an M3 Max chip. The new laptop promises to deliver incredible performance, but it also comes with a steep price tag.

Design and Display
The design of the new MacBook Pro 16 remains largely unchanged from previous models. It still features a sleek aluminum unibody design with a large 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display. The display is gorgeous, with incredible brightness, contrast, and color accuracy. It’s also ProMotion-enabled, which means it can refresh at up to 120Hz for smooth scrolling and animations.
Performance
The M3 Max chip is the real star of the show. It’s Apple’s most powerful chip yet, and it delivers exceptional performance in both CPU and GPU tasks. In benchmarks, the M3 Max outperforms the M2 Max in most tasks, and it even rivals some desktop processors.
The M3 Max chip is also equipped with a new 16-core neural engine, which provides up to 40% faster machine learning performance than the M2 Max. This means that tasks like video encoding, image processing, and natural language processing can be done much faster.
Storage and RAM
The new MacBook Pro 16 comes with up to 128 GB of unified memory and up to 8 TB of SSD storage. This is enough to store even the most demanding workloads, and it ensures that applications will launch and run quickly.
Battery Life
Apple claims that the new MacBook Pro 16 can last up to 24 hours on a single charge. In real-world testing, we found that the battery life was closer to 18 hours, but that’s still very impressive.
Gaming
The M3 Max chip is capable of gaming at high frame rates, even in demanding titles like Shadow of the Tomb Raider. However, Apple’s native game selection is still relatively limited, and many games will still need to be run through Rosetta 2.
Price and Availability
The new MacBook Pro 16 starts at $3,499. This is a significant price increase over the previous model, but it’s also reflective of the increased performance. The new laptop is available for purchase now from Apple’s website and authorized resellers.
