YouTube has unveiled a new addition to the main tab for content creators’ channels called the “For You” section, this feature aims to boost interaction and aid viewers in discovering content by offering personalized video recommendations based on their viewing history.
The “For You” section welcomes anyone visiting your channel with a custom list of recommended videos, including a mix of content from your channel based on the visitor’s viewing history.
The “For You” section provides a tailored experience for channel visitors, displaying a coordinated mix of videos that align with individual viewing preferences.
Content creators have the ability to specify the types of content they want to include in this section, and they can also choose to display content published within the last 12 months only.
The availability of the “For You” section varies depending on the main tab of the channel, so YouTube recommends verifying access to this feature through your channel.
Content creators can access and make adjustments to the “For You” section through the following steps:
1. Log in to YouTube Studio.
2. Select “Customization” from the left menu and go to the “Layout” section.
3. Scroll down to find the “Recommendations for viewers” option and click “More Settings.”
4. Choose specific content types you want to display and select whether you want to show recent content only from the past 12 months.
5. Click “Done” and then “Publish.”
Content creators have full control over this feature, easily turning it on or off in the channel settings, the “More Settings” option in the “Recommendations for viewers” section provides additional customization options.
Content creators can significantly customize the “For You” section by choosing to display short videos, live streams, full videos, or a combination of them. They can also decide whether to include all content or showcase only recent materials.
YouTube clarified that the “For You” section will be rolled out on November 20, 2023, it advises content creators to review settings and make necessary formatting adjustments before the feature becomes available to viewers.
