Adobe announced three groundbreaking artificial intelligence models that bring significant enhancements to its creative software suite, these models enhance Illustrator, Adobe Express, and Photoshop, significantly improving text-to-image transformation capabilities.
During the Adobe Max event held today, the company introduced Firefly Image 2, the latest version of the AI model dedicated to image creation, known as Firefly, it brings advanced features like Generative Match in Photoshop. Additionally, Adobe unveiled two new models for creating design templates and vector images.
Adobe claims that the new Firefly Image 2 model excels in producing high-quality images, particularly when it comes to intricate details like leaves, skin texture, hair, hands, and facial features, making realistic human images more compelling.
Images generated using Firefly Image 2 boast high precision, vibrant colors, and enhanced color contrast, this model also offers new AI-supported editing capabilities, designed to assist users in customizing their results, users can manually or automatically apply image settings to control depth of field, motion blur, and image composition, similar to manual camera controls.
Moreover, Adobe introduced the “Quick Guidance” feature to help users improve their textual descriptions and provide automatic suggestions to enhance efficiency.
Adobe also introduced a new feature called “Generative Match” that influences the content style created to match specific images, users can choose from a pre-selected list of images or upload their own references to replicate the pattern and control the similarity degree using a scrolling bar.
Adobe has implemented “new policies and assurances” to safeguard Generative Match against misuse. Users will be required to agree to Adobe’s terms and confirm they have the rights to use the uploaded images, along with storing a thumbnail of the content uploaded on Adobe’s servers to ensure accountability.
Generative Match will remain in a trial phase until Adobe collects user feedback, and users will not be allowed to use it for commercial purposes during this time.
Notably, Firefly Image 2 is available for trial as of today through the web version of the Firefly service and will soon be accessible for Creative Cloud applications but not yet in Photoshop.
Adobe also revealed Firefly Vector, a new AI model for Illustrator, which the company claims is the world’s first generative AI model for vector graphics, it enables users to create editable ray-traced images using textual guidelines that automatically categorize elements into “logical” groups and layers.
In contrast to traditional JPEG and PNG files, ray-traced graphics, also known as SVG files, are ideal for content creators such as logo designers because they can be resized without affecting image quality.
The Firefly Vector model is available for trial starting today through the Illustrator trial version, along with additional trial features like Mockup, which realistically displays designs on 3D models, and Retype for identifying and editing vector fonts.
Adobe also launched Firefly Design, a model that creates customizable templates for printing, social media posts, online advertisements, videos, and more, by enabling the new experimental feature to convert text into templates in Adobe Express, the Firefly Design model uses textual guidelines to create fully editable templates for “all common aspect ratios.”
In summary, Adobe’s new AI models are set to revolutionize the creative world, offering powerful tools for image creation, vector graphics, and customizable design templates, making it easier than ever for users to bring their creative ideas to life.
