WhatsApp’s Leap into the Future: Meta Unveils AI-Powered Features for Enhanced Communication
Meta announced during its annual event “Connect” several artificial intelligence features and products that will soon be available on WhatsApp.
Today, the instant messaging service published a blog post outlining the artificial intelligence solutions it will be receiving.
WhatsApp stated, “We have been inspired by the potential of generative artificial intelligence and the role it can play in helping people enhance their creative capabilities, productivity, and overall well-being, all through a simple message.”
The service further added, “With the immense volume of conversations happening on WhatsApp, we want to assist people all around the world in harnessing this new technology.”
WhatsApp will initially introduce three new artificial intelligence services provided by Meta to represent “what we expect to be the first steps of a longer journey we are embarking on together.” Starting today, some users can begin testing the following features in their conversations with friends and family:
1. Artificial Intelligence Stickers: Users can create custom stickers representing thoughts or ideas suitable for their chat.
2. Artificial Intelligence Chatbots: These chatbots use Meta’s solutions to provide more information on topics of interest to the user.
Users can also raise issues for discussion within their group chats and arrive at solutions, this includes getting insights from dozens of AI-generated personalities created by Meta, which respond in interesting ways.
By typing the command “/imagine,” users can harness artificial intelligence solutions to create realistic images that convey ideas, places, or individuals.
WhatsApp emphasized its commitment to helping businesses enhance the quality and speed of services they offer to people by using their chosen artificial intelligence solutions.
It stated, “We are working behind the scenes with a select few partners at the moment and will provide more information on this in the coming months.”
