Apple has officially confirmed that its new iPhone 15 series can now connect to the internet via a wired connection using the new USB-C port.
Through its official website, Apple announced that users of the iPhone 15 series can utilize a “USB to Ethernet” adapter to connect an Ethernet cable directly to their iPhones, enabling a wired internet connection.
Wired connections offer faster download and upload speeds compared to wireless internet available through Wi-Fi networks.
With the “USB to Ethernet” adapter, iPhones can be directly connected to an Ethernet cable without the need for a router or the availability of a wireless internet network.
Upon connecting an iPhone to an Ethernet internet cable, the “Ethernet” option automatically appears in the device settings. It provides IP address-related information along with various customization and operational options. It’s worth noting that some devices already support wired internet connections via the USB-C port, including Microsoft Surface devices.
MacRumors reported successful wired internet connections through iPhone 15, with some users noting significantly improved connection speeds compared to wireless Wi-Fi connections.
It’s worth mentioning that Apple also allows wired internet connections in older iPhone models using a “Lightning to Ethernet” adapter.
The new USB-C port in the iPhone 15 series brings a wide range of benefits, including the ability to connect to numerous accessories and cables without limitations, as well as the option to charge both iPhone and other Android devices.
