Microsoft has officially unveiled the new Surface Laptop Studio 2, marking the second generation of the device, two years after the release of the first model.
This laptop stands out as the most powerful among Microsoft’s Surface lineup, catering primarily to customers who require high-performance computing for their daily tasks.
The Surface Laptop Studio 2 features the thirteenth generation Intel processors, specifically the i7 H, with 14 cores, a significant upgrade from the previous version.
Additionally, it is the first laptop to incorporate an Intel Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to support Windows Studio Effects, a set of video and audio effects aimed at enhancing the calling experience.
For graphics processing, it boasts the GeForce RTX 4060 from Nvidia, offering superior performance compared to its predecessor.
It is reported to be faster than the equivalent graphics in Apple’s MacBook Pro, the laptop also includes Intel Iris Xe graphics for traditional business tasks that don’t require the full capabilities of the primary graphics processor.
The device is equipped with up to 64GB of RAM and storage options that can go up to 2TB. Microsoft has improved the device’s port selection, featuring a USB-A port, microSD slot, two USB-C ports supporting Thunderbolt 4, Surface Connect, and a headphone jack.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 sports an aluminum design, departing from the previous magnesium build, it includes an advanced touchpad, a 14.4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2400 x 1600 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, a wider field-of-view webcam, a digital pen for drawing, and starts at a price of $2,000 USD.
