Apple has announced the addition of two new storage capacities, 6TB and 12TB, to its iCloud+ service, which previously maxed out at 2TB.
Every Apple ID account includes 5GB of free cloud storage, and users have the option to upgrade to larger capacities, such as 50GB or 200GB, or even 2TB, for a recurring fee.
In addition to increased storage space for files, Apple provides iCloud+ subscribers with additional features, including Hide My Email, Custom Email Domain, and iCloud Private Relay, a service similar to VPN.
Currently, iCloud+ subscribers pay $0.99 per month for 50GB of storage, $2.99 per month for 200GB, and $9.99 per month for 2TB.
The larger storage options will be available starting on September 18th. Apple is offering the 6TB capacity for $29.99 per month and the 12TB capacity for $59.99 per month.
For comparison, Google offers cloud storage services with 5TB and 10TB options for $25 and $50 per month, respectively.
Apple also offers a Family Sharing feature, allowing subscribers to share their storage with up to five family members.
Users can securely store original photos, videos, and other files on iCloud, sharing them with others as needed and creating backups of their devices for easy retrieval at any time.
