Champions League Group Stage Draw Results: Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, PSG Face Tough Challenges
The 2023-24 UEFA Champions League group stage draw was held in Monaco on Thursday, August 31. The draw, which was conducted by former Barcelona and Chelsea stars Eric Abidal and Joe Cole, resulted in some exciting matchups.
Manchester United, the defending champions, were drawn into Group A alongside Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray. This is a tough group for United, as they will be facing two of the favorites to win the tournament.
Liverpool, another English Premier League giant, were drawn into Group B alongside Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven, and Real Sociedad. This is a more favorable draw for Liverpool, but they will still face some tough competition from Sevilla.
Bayern Munich, the most successful team in Champions League history, were drawn into Group A alongside Manchester United, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray. This is a tough group for Bayern, but they will be the favorites to advance.
Paris Saint-Germain, the French Ligue 1 champions, were drawn into Group C alongside Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Royal Antwerp. This is a tough group for PSG, but they will be the favorites to advance.

The group stage of the Champions League will begin on September 19 and will conclude on December 13.
The final of the Champions League will be held at Wembley Stadium in London on June 1, 2024.
Additional notes:
- This is the final season with 32 teams in the Champions League group stage. Starting in 2024-25, the tournament will expand to 36 teams.
- Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, the all-time leading scorers in Champions League history, will not be playing in the tournament this season. Ronaldo is playing in Saudi Arabia, while Messi is playing in the United States.
