Chelsea have announced the signing of Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia from Southampton.
Chelsea published a statement on their official website on Friday confirming their contract with 19-year-old Lavia on a 7-year contract.

Chelsea have not disclosed the financial details of the deal, but the BBC reported that it was worth £58 million.

Lavia told Chelsea: “I’m really happy to join Chelsea and be part of this interesting project, it’s a great club with a great history.”
Chelsea snatch a second deal from Liverpool in this summer’s Mercato, having previously signed Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
Lavia history before moving to Chelsea
Lavia grew up in Manchester City’s academy and moved to Southampton in the summer of 2022 for €13.5m.
The young midfielder made 35 appearances for Southampton in various competitions last season, scoring one goal and assisting another.
