Chelsea have not disclosed the financial details of the deal, but the BBC reported that it was worth £58 million.

Lavia told Chelsea: “I’m really happy to join Chelsea and be part of this interesting project, it’s a great club with a great history.”

Chelsea snatch a second deal from Liverpool in this summer’s Mercato, having previously signed Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
