Sevilla president José Castro has spoken out about losing the UEFA Super Cup 2023 to Man City.
Manchester City won the European Super Cup for the first time, after beating Sevilla.
The two sides drew (1-1) in 90 minutes, before resorting to lucky kicks that smiled in favor of Manchester City, with a score of 5-4.

The president of Sevilla said in remarks via the newspaper “Marca” Spanish: “I am very sad and angry, but at the same time proud of the great match played by my team.”
“This is football, Nasiri missed several goals. Had he scored the second goal, we would have had more rest against a great team like Manchester City.”
“I’m proud of the team, the players and the coach. We played a great game against a team full of stars.”

On Bono’s future, he continued: “An extraordinary goalkeeper, he has saved many penalties before but this is football. We needed luck, Goddeley’s kick was very good but it hit the crossbar.”
“Bono was thinking about only one thing, the final and getting another title with Sevilla.”
“I don’t know Bounou’s fate, the market is still open and I don’t know what will happen but at the moment I can confirm that nothing is settled.”
The Sevilla president continued: “There are ongoing talks not only with Bounou but with more players.”
“We will agree if there are offers that can help us bring in young players who will give us good performance and a special addition.”
