Romeo Lavia ruled out of Southampton’s cup match due to move to Liverpool
Southampton have ruled out midfielder Romeo Lavia from the squad for the League Cup match against Glingham due to his imminent move to Liverpool.
Romeo Lavia fears of missing Liverpool’s matches in the cup if he participates with Southampton during today’s match, which caused his absence from the meeting, indicating that he is close to resolving the transfer to the Reds.
According to the newspaper “Liverpool Echo”, Romeo Lavia wants to settle the deal before Friday so that he can participate in Chelsea’s opening match for the Reds in the Premier League.
Southampton earlier rejected a new offer from Liverpool’s management to sign Belgian international Romeo Lavia during the current summer transfer window for £41 million other than additions.
Liverpool have already made a £35m offer, plus two million extras in a first offer to sign the Belgian.
According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, Chelsea is also struggling to include the player in its ranks to strengthen the midfield before the start of the new season.
The report said Southampton would like £50m for the 19-year-old Lavia, who moved from Manchester City last summer to his current club.
Liverpool are hoping to secure the Belgian midfielder’s services to compensate for Guardan Henderson’s possible departure to the Saudi Accord over the past few days.
