Liverpool FC legend, Steven Gerrard, coach of Saudi club Al-Ettifaq, revealed that he refused to sign Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the star of the Reds.
Gerrard said, in remarks quoted by the site “Liverpool Echo” : “I was asked about my opinion on the inclusion of Salah to the agreement . He’s my favourite player, I love Liverpool, so I want him to stay there.”
“When he wins more leagues and the Champions League with Liverpool, maybe we’ll look at it.”
The Saudi press reports confirmed that the Jeddah Union Club entered into serious negotiations to include Salah, and the newspaper “Sports” Saudi Arabia that the Saudi club offered Liverpool 60 million pounds sterling, in addition to a huge salary for the pharaoh contract extends for two seasons.

Salah’s agent added: “Mohamed remains committed to Liverpool throughout his contract with the club, and this is clear to everyone.”
Liverpool succeeded in renewing Mohamed Salah’s contract in the summer of 2022 to continue with the team until 2025, as the club doubled his salary from £200,000 a week to 400.
