SSC Napoli announced today, Saturday, the extension of the contract of team captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, until 2028, to continue his career with the Italian league champions, which began in 2019, coming from Empoli.
“Napoli announced the extension of the contract for the sports performance of footballer Giovanni Di Lorenzo until June 30, 2028,” the Italian club’s statement said.
Di Lorenzo signed his new contract in the presence of club president Aurelio De Laurentis.
The 30-year-old joined Napoli in the summer of 2019 from Empoli in a deal worth up to €10 million.
With the Partenopei, Di Lorenzo made 184 appearances in various competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 28 assists.
Napoli reject Al Hilal’s offer to sign Victor Osimhen
In a different context, press reports revealed that Napoli rejected the Italian offer of Al-Hilal to contract with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, after the Saudi team offered Osimhen a salary equivalent to one million pounds per week.
Sky Sport reported that Al Hilal’s €140m offer for Victor Osimhen would be rejected because Napoli have always said they want at least €150m.
The report added that the player is currently in negotiations with Napoli over renewing his contract but Napoli made it clear that if a club made an offer that they could not refuse, then Napoli would be willing to sell him.
