Croatian star, Luka Modric, emphasized that he wants to remain a member of Spain’s Real Madrid club and is resisting offers from Saudi Arabia at present.
Luca held a press conference which was reported by the Marca newspaper, to talk about the Croatia vs Netherlands match in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League, which will take place on Wednesday evening.
Modric: I have talked a lot about what I want regarding my future with Real Madrid
When asked about his future with Real Madrid, he said: “My focus is on the national team, as for Real Madrid, I have already said this multiple times and I do not want to repeat it”.
Modric also added, saying: “My focus is on the match against Holland, at the end of the UEFA Nations League, we can talk about that.”
The Croatian star has previously stated that he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, but as of yet, the Royal Club has not made an offer to extend Luka’s contract at Santiago Bernabeu.
Regarding Karim Benzema’s departure, they stated: “We regret the departure of a great player like Karim, but every player has their own path and does what they see best for themselves. We thank him for everything, he has contributed a lot to Real Madrid, and we wish him the best of luck.”
When representing the Croatian national team, Luca feels enjoyment and fulfillment. Despite nearing the end of his international career, he still finds pleasure in playing for his country every time he puts on the Croatian jersey. His time with the national team coming to a close is not a reason for him to enjoy his international career any less.
