The German manager of Liverpool jokingly spoke about the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, stating that he doesn’t wish him luck in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations due to Salah’s absence from the Reds’ squad during a crucial period.

It is worth mentioning that the African tournament, in which the Egyptian Pharaoh Mohamed Salah participates, will take place between January 13 and February 11, 2024. Salah’s teammate at Liverpool, the Japanese star Watari Endo, will also participate in the AFC Champions League.
Therefore, Klopp stated that he sent these two players to compete with their national teams without wishing them luck in order to return quickly to the team.
Klopp stated before the Arsenal match in the English Cup: “I would be lying if I said I wished them luck,” adding that he would be happy if they were eliminated from the group stage. However, he expects both teams, “Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations and Japan in the Asian Cup,” to win the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that Jurgen Klopp does not find an ideal replacement to compensate for the absence of the team’s star, Mohamed Salah, during his absence from the team, as Salah has scored 18 goals so far this season.

The Egyptian national team is scheduled to play its first match in the tournament against the Mozambique national team on January 14, 2024. The match will take place at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, The kick-off time is scheduled for 7:00 PM local time in Egypt, 8:00 PM in Saudi Arabia, and 9:00 PM in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The second match for the Egyptian national team in the group stage will be against the Ghana national team on Thursday, January 18, 2024, The match will kick off at 10:00 PM in Cairo, 11:00 PM in Saudi Arabia, and 12:00 AM in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
As for the third and final match for the Egyptian national team in the group stage, it will be against the Cape Verde national team on January 22, 2024, at 11:00 PM in Saudi Arabia and 10:00 PM in Cairo, Egypt.
