Kylian Mbappe: AC Milan Fans Showed Excessive Hostility towards Donnarumma

The young French star, Kylian Mbappe, congratulated AC Milan after their hard-fought victory over his team, Paris Saint-Germain, with a score of 2-1 on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

The goalkeeper, Donnarumma, was subjected to hostile treatment by the AC Milan fans. The fans threw fake money at the player due to accusations that he joined Paris Saint-Germain in order to secure a financial gain. 

Mbappe stated in an interview with the famous Italian newspaper “Football”, “There was a lot of noise during that match, and the Italian fans received Donnarumma in a very difficult manner.”

He added, “The situation was greatly exaggerated, but this is football in the current period.” 

Mbappe concluded his statements by saying, “The fans do what they want, we don’t know how they feel. We tried to protect Donnarumma as much as possible, and we feel a lot of regret for what he went through.” 

It is worth mentioning that Paris Saint-Germain’s points remained at 6 after that defeat, placing them in second position in the group standings, while AC Milan increased their points to 5, securing the third position. 

Borussia Dortmund currently occupies the top spot in the group with 7 points after 4 matches, having won two, drawn one, and lost one match.
