Some Real Madrid fans chanted during the match, calling for Perez, the president of Real Madrid, to resign from his position.
The famous writer Guillermo Rai confirmed on “The Athletic” website that the anti-president chants came from the stands of Real Madrid fans, specifically from the Ultras Sur group, which opposes Perez’s regime.
It’s worth mentioning that the Ultras Sur group has been banned from attending matches at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium since 2014, as Perez has had a strong hostility towards the group due to their violent behavior in stadiums, which he considers a negative aspect of the club’s brand.
Perez is considered one of the best presidents who have led the royal club, as the club has won 31 championships under his leadership, most notably winning the Champions League title in six seasons.
Currently, Real Madrid is at the top of the league table after 10 rounds of La Liga matches, leading Girona and Barcelona by one point.”
