A person sabotaged the deal… Behind the scenes of Qatar’s withdrawal of the offer to buy Manchester United Football Club
Some news reports have revealed the details regarding the withdrawal of the Qatari offer, which was made by His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, to purchase the English team, Manchester United, Despite Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad being the closest to finalizing this deal, he decided to withdraw his offer to buy the historic English club with a 100% stake, which amounted to approximately £5 billion.
As a result, the field is now completely open for Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the British billionaire, who aims to purchase a stake in the club amounting to approximately 25% of its value.
The famous British newspaper, “The Sun,” has confirmed that the owners of the English team are extremely surprised by the withdrawal of the Qatari offer made by His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani. They had canceled their annual leave in order to finalize the sale.
The person who obstructed the completion of this deal is the co-chairman of the club “Joel Glazer” as he wanted to either retain the majority stake or increase the value of the offer to £6 billion.
The decision to raise the offer value angered Sheikh Jassim, his representatives, and led to the withdrawal of the offer after 11 months of negotiations, following Manchester United’s announcement to sell the club in November 2022.
