The newspaper “Sport” stated that Manchester City has given Barcelona requirements regarding the sale of their loaned defender to Bayern Munich, Portuguese Joao Cancelo.
Cancelo stands out as Barcelona’s top target to strengthen their right-back position, especially with increasing likelihood of him not continuing with Bayern Munich or completing his journey with Manchester City due to his conflicts with Pep Guardiola.
According to Sport newspaper, Barcelona expressed their desire to sign Cancelo on a loan deal, but Manchester City informed them that they are open to the player’s departure through a permanent sale and have set a price.
Barcelona keen on a Cancelo loan
According to the Spanish newspaper, Manchester City has informed Barcelona that they need 40 million euros for Cancelo to move to Camp Nou.
According to the newspaper Sport, Barcelona is considering other options to strengthen the right flank such as Villarreal’s defender, Juan Foyth, and Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich. However, Barcelona is primarily focused on Cancelo as their choice.
It is mentioned that Cancelo played 14 matches with Bayern Munich in the German league since he joined in January, scoring one goal and assisting in four others.
