In a recent statement, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, announced on Monday that a Tornado fighter jet had crashed during a routine training mission.
According to Al-Maliki’s press release, the incident occurred at 15:44 on Monday evening when a Royal Saudi Air Force Tornado aircraft crashed in the training area belonging to King Abdulaziz Air Base in Dhahran.
Fortunately, Al-Maliki confirmed that the aircrew survived the crash after utilizing the ejection seat, with no injuries or losses reported on the ground as a result of the aircraft’s descent.
Al-Maliki further explained that a committee has been formed to investigate the incident and determine the details and causes of the crash.
