Replacement of the Kaaba Kiswa
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque changed the covering of the Holy Kaaba today, according to the annual tradition, Sheikh Dr, The old one and the installation of the new cladding, then fixing it on the corners of the Kaaba and its surface.
The process of installing the new cladding
The new covering of the Kaaba has been installed, The covering consists of:
- Four sides parted and the door curtain.
- Each of the four sides of the Kaaba was individually raised to the top of the Kaaba.
- After that, the side was fixed from above by tying it and lowering the other end of the old side.
- The ropes of the old side are loosened, then the new side is moved up and down in a constant motion.
- Then the old side was lowered and the new side was left.
- This process is repeated four times for each side until the garment is completed.
- After that, the belt was weighed on a straight line on the four sides by stitching it.
Knitting a new dress
After fixing all the sides, the corners are fixed by sewing them from the upper part of the garment to the lower part, After that is completed, the curtain that took time and mastery in work is placed, and an opening is made in the black cloth with an area approximately equal to the area of the curtain, and this opening extends to about 3. 30 meters wide until the end of the dress, After that, three more holes are made in the black cloth to install the curtain from the bottom of it, Finally, the ends are fixed by sewing them into the black cloth on the dress.
The kiswa is worn from the outside with patterns woven with black threads using the jacquard technique. On the inscriptions are written: “O God, O God”, “There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God”, “Glory be to God and His praise”, “Glory be to God the Great”, and “Oh Judge, O Manan” These phrases are repeated throughout the Kiswa cloth.
