Adam Sandler and Family Star in Netflix’s Adaptation of ‘You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah’
In the first official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming film, “You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah”, Adam Sandler and his real-life family take center stage. The movie, scheduled to begin streaming on August 25, is an adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s popular coming-of-age novel.
The narrative revolves around Stacy Friedman and Lydia Katz, best friends navigating the pressures of middle school. Stacy is engrossed in planning her bat mitzvah and nursing a crush on Andy Goldfarb. However, when Lydia inadvertently attracts Andy’s attention, the friendship between the girls is strained.
Sandler’s daughter, Sunny, stars as Stacy, with his older daughter, Sadie, also featuring in the film. Idina Menzel, Sandler’s co-star from “Uncut Gems”, plays his wife.
The ensemble cast includes Sarah Sherman from “Saturday Night Live”, Luis Guzmán (“Punch-Drunk Love”), Ido Mosseri (“You Don’t Mess with the Zohan), Samantha Lorraine (“The Walking Dead: World Beyond”), Dylan Hoffman (“Next”), Dean Scott Vazquez (“Transformers: Rise of The Beasts”), Miya Cech (“Always Be My Maybe”), Dylan Dash (“The Great”), Millie Thorpe (“Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion”), and introducing Zaara Kuttemperoor and Ivory Baker.
The film is directed by Sammi Cohen, with a script penned by Alison Peck. Adam Sandler joins in a producer’s role, along with Happy Madison executive Tim Herlihy. Additional producers include Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton from Alloy Entertainment, and executive producers Barry Bernardi, Judit Maull, and Kevin Grady.
