According to earlier reports, it appears that the Century SUV will be based on the TNGA-K platform, already used in several other models, including the Toyota Highlander, Lexus TX SUVs, Toyota Alphard/Vellfire, and Lexus LM minivans.
This luxury SUV is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain, although there are possibilities of replacing the current V8 hybrid engine from the Century sedan with a more rational and efficient setup that combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with dual electric motors.
Reports suggest that the Century SUV will cost around 15 million yen (105,000 dollars) in Japan, making it cheaper than the Century sedan, which has a value of 20 million yen (140,000 dollars).
Production is expected to take place at the Takaoka plant in Japan, with a high chance of Toyota exporting the Century SUV to other markets as well, It has been confirmed that the vehicle will be revealed “later in 2023,” although local media have hinted at a possible date in August, Until then, you can explore the AI-generated renderings that should closely resemble the actual production model.
