The UK and Ireland are bracing for an unsettled week with spells of wind and rain, starting with storm Debi.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind over northwest England, while yellow warnings for wind and rain are in place for many central and some northern parts of both the UK and Ireland.
What to expect
The north will be mostly very wet and windy into the afternoon, with 80mph gusts on coasts and hills around the northern Irish Sea, and 60mph gusts elsewhere.
Rain there will turn more showery later, becoming largely confined to Scotland and northern England. Brighter skies and the odd shower will follow in Northern Ireland and the north of Ireland.
Southern parts meanwhile will have sunny spells and a scattering of blustery showers, some heavy with hail and thunder.
Most parts will be mild with a scattering of blustery, locally heavy and thundery showers tonight, likely merging in the southwest to give more prolonged rain.
Tuesday’s forecast
Tuesday will bring sunny spells and a scattering of heavy showers, frequent and prolonged over Scotland and southern England for a time.
South-western parts will have the best of the sunshine.
Stay safe!
