Egyptian Interior Ministry Confirms Death of Notorious Drug Dealer in a Shootout with Police
Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian police killed one of the country’s most wanted drug dealers, a man known as “The Scorpion,” in a shootout.

The shootout took place in the city of Mansoura, in the Daqahliya governorate, when police officers attempted to arrest the suspect. The Scorpion opened fire on the officers, who returned fire, killing him.
Police recovered a cache of weapons and drugs from the Scorpion’s hideout, including a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a large quantity of ammunition, two kilograms of marijuana, a quantity of heroin, and 1,100 tablets of the stimulant drug Captagon.
In other news, Egyptian security forces arrested five fugitives who were wanted on a variety of charges, including assault, theft, and drug trafficking.
- A man in the Beheira governorate was arrested for fleeing from 118 warrants, including 70 years of prison time and fines.
- A man in the Kafr El-Sheikh governorate was arrested for fleeing from 74 warrants, including 25 years of prison time and fines.
- A man in the Sohag governorate was arrested for fleeing from 74 warrants, including 23 years of prison time and fines.
- A man in the Cairo governorate was arrested for fleeing from 23 warrants for damaging archaeological sites.
- A man in Alexandria was arrested for fleeing from 33 warrants for bouncing checks.
The suspects were all taken into custody and charged with the crimes they are accused of.
