Mohamed Al-Fayed began working at a young age, where he did several jobs, including being a porter of goods in the port of Alexandria.
Mohammed Al-Fayed began making his fortune when he traveled to the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s, then traveled to Saudi Arabia, where he met the Saudi businessman Adnan Khashoggi and married his sister, the writer Samira Khashoggi. Adnan also helped him enter the import trade in the Kingdom until a foreigner, the Sultan of Brunei, became responsible for his wealth, convincing him to invest his money in England.
