The fire resulted in 5 people being injured due to smoke inhalation, and they received initial treatment at the scene of the fire.
Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, the Minister of Awqaf, inspected the firefighting operation, and now the incident is under investigation by both the Public Prosecution and the Administrative Prosecution to address their respective responsibilities.
Fortunately, the building was empty of all employees as the ministry had moved to the administrative capital several weeks ago. Additionally, it coincided with the weekend break, which prevented any human casualties due to the fire.
It is worth noting that the ministry’s building, which caught fire, is one of the historical buildings in Egypt.
